A 19-year-old male is being charged in relation to a collision that occurred one year ago, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old individual who was a passenger at the time.

A 19-year-old male is being charged in relation to a collision that occurred one year ago, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old passenger.
According to the police, the crash that occurred on October 18, 2022, at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and Guay Avenue in Winnipeg’s St. Vital area was caused by driving at an excessively high speed and engaging in reckless behavior.
According to the police, a hydro pole was struck by the car at approximately 9 p.m. Unfortunately, the passenger was declared deceased shortly after being taken to the hospital.
The driver, who was 18 years old at the time but is now 19, was urgently taken to the hospital in a severe state.
Police stated that he was arrested recently, following his recovery from injuries, and now faces the criminal charge of negligence leading to death.
